Did you buy a wired or wireless XBox 360? I know nothing about them but I've read there are two kinds. And the wireless has some kind of USB cable for the wireless "When plugged in with a play and charge kit cable, all that cable does is supply power from the 360 (or PC) to charge the battery and power the controller.
