After configuring AppFabric Beta 2 Refresh on a Server 2008 x64 machine, we have noticed some changes to the Windows Firewall configuration that were not expected. During configuration, I left the options to configure firewall exceptions unchecked so was not expecting to see any changes at all.

Does the installer/config tool silently create/modify any rules relating to:

I have not configured the hosting service but the caching service has been configured to use the XML config provider over a file share, and forms a single node cluster (primarily for testing).

AppFabric config wizard modifies the following firewall exceptions (but not silently, in the config wizard user needs to opt-in)
1) Windows Server AppFabric: AppFabric Caching Service
2) Remote Service Management

除了上述2个firewal规则外，它不会修改任何其他规则。

Other than the above 2 firewal rules it does not modify any other rules.
