Hi, I am trying to get my sql server to work on my PC.
I can't seem to get it to connect to anything. I have sql server 2008 and the express edition.
Which one is best? I would like to use my sql server 2008 with my Visual studio 2008. I have tried removing and reinstalling it many times with no luck.
Is there a good video tutorial on the installation procedure?
I am using Windows Vista, I think this may be the problem, but this is what I have on my computer.
I do have the Visual studio 2010 ultimate edition. I have not put it on my computer yet, it is on a disk.
What is my best option to get a running environment? Which IDE and server is less complicated?
I could use some help on this one.

In my experiance, vista is not comfortable enough for developer.

I normally use Virtual PC on my Vista to run my Win Server OS ans setup environment on win server. If you wish to setup VS 2010then the best option would be:
- Win Server 2008
- VS 2010
- SQL Server 2008 (or express).
