I have installed visual studio community. i had selected custom installation in which i have selected tools required for visual c++.After installation,when i clicking on New->New Project-> Visual c++, it is asking me to install universal windows platform tools. when i am checking this update on internet,it is showing me that to install this,you need to have windows 10 on your desktop but i am working on windows 7.

please tell me:

If you just need to work with simple c++ program, you don't need to install universal windows platform tools.

After you selected custom installation in which i have selected tools required for visual c++, you could create c++ programs like Win32 programs, MFC programs, etc.

Or you could try to install visual c++ redistributable package for your vs version.
