Hello!

I'm developing an Excel add-in and found a strange bug (?) that is really difficult to debug via Visual Studio's own debug session.

Situation:

Excel add-in is installed and running normally. User either plugs in an external monitor, join a Live Meeting session or otherwise changes the resolution of the screen.

Problem:

After screen has updated everything, Excel is really slow and has to be killed via the Task Manager. After restart of Excel, the add-in works normally in new resolution. If the add-in is disabled, the problem does not occur.

Files are usually opened through a SharePoint Document Library. The add-in talks to a SharePoint 2010 environment, and fetches information from a document library, but only on file load. After that, it does not connect to SharePoint any more, before saving the Excel. 

Has anybody seen anything like this before? What's going on?? And most important, how to fix this?

What is the version of your Excel and what is the type of the Excel Add-In? I haven't encountered the problem before.

You can take the following actions to see whether the problem can be avoided:

How about installing the Add-In on the other machines?

Try to set the ScreenUpdating property to be false.
