I have a SharePoint 2016 environment with a document library with several content types and templates(.dotx) connected to it. The content types have both text fields/columns and managed metadata fields/columns. Its all functioning well with the exception that once i created a document from template and have given values to the different fields:

This behaviour only concerns the managed metadata column and quick parts that are connected to that type of column, not the choice, text or other types of columns that i am currently using. The SharePoint document library view shows the correct values and if i open the document in the word client the header suddenly shows the right values. It is as there is no connection between the word header and the managed metadata service until i open the document in the word client. After opening the document in the word client, the Office Online representation of the header is correct until i change the document properties again. The i need to open the document in the client to force the update of the quick parts/header. Why is this? Is this expected behaviour?
