I have a seven month old computer from Dell.  Occasionally the computer crashes: screen goes blank and no response to keyboard or mouse.  Only solution is to hold button down to force reboot.  This problem happens at times when I run VS and it happens at other times without VS running.  I have had Dell remotely inspect my computer.  They suggest I reinstall Windows 7, office 2010 and VS 2010.  This would be a real pain.  I suspect the problem it an overheating power supply.  Any suggestions as how to deal with Dell.

No Jim, I don't think that the problem is with the power supply. One of my friend recently faced similar problem with his dell inspiron with windows 7 ultimate.  Reinstalling the OS have solved his problem.
