My Sharepoint server was inaccessible for about 10 minutes. I am exploring lots of causes, however I noticed that there was a "Failed" update that occurred at the exact same time as the outage. I can't find an answer online as to why the server tried to update on its own (apparently)? Where in Sharepoint can I control updates, and are they set to automatically update by default? I looked at the log file and it doesn't reveal anything (that I am aware of). Thanks in advance. Steve

Not sure how updates were applied or the practice in your company but definitely Do Not apply SharePoint CU even security patches through window updates. If Auto update is turned on for windows then ask server team to filter out anything related to SP.
