Hi all, hoping someone could help out with this.

I am attempting to link a sql server table as a list on a sharepoint site. Ideally when the table is updated, the list on the sharepoint site would be updated as well.

I originally tried to setup an external content through sharepoint designer. I was able to create the list, and link it through the designer, however when I tried to view it on the site, I received the following error "Unable to render the data. If the problem persists, contact your web server administrator.". While I attempt to get that fixed, I was attempting other methods.

I'm not sure if that could work, however I do have it currently setup so that the linked access database can manually publish to a list on the sharepoint site.

You can use Access Services to "copy" an Access database into SharePoint, but not to link to an Access database. SharePoint data must either be in SharePoint, or linked via BCS/BDC.
