Hi - Running Windows Vista with WDS 4 - Office 2007.

My primary mailbox (cached) is not being indexed - I do a search from within Outlook and items are found in my personal folders and archive folders but nothing is found from my mailbox (sent, deleted, inbox, etc.)  I have re-indexed and it works briefly but then goes away.

Incidentally, another piece of possible troubleshooting info - I installed google desktop to search as well - this finds emails in my mailbox but does not allow me to open them from google desktop search app.

I've had a similar problem and may have stumbled on a solution.  I looked in my "Sync Issues" folder (which only shows up from the folder tab in Outlook 2007) and found thousands (more than 10k) of "not downloading offline address book files.  A server (URL) could not be located" messages.

After deleting those messages, reseting Windows search to its defaults, rebuilding the index and rebooting, Windows Search started indexing my emails again.  I am not certain that this was the cause of the problem but it repeatably fixed Windows Search (with respect to email) on my system.  The only thing that comes to mind is that indexes decline in efficiency if there are many identical (or nearly identical) results...
