I have a conflict in my project. I do not have sufficient IPs to upgrade my Azure AKS cluster in the subnet. So, I am planning to remove a node by scaling down to get free IPs.

My query here is while draining the node whether the application related pods in that node will be moved to the existing nodes if space is available in the nodes.

When you scale down, nodes will be picked and then cordoned are drained. If you have enough capacity in the cluster, The containers from the nodes which are scaling down will move to healthy nodes.
