For starters, I'm just a beginner in this field. I have some kind of a "homework" in which I need to create a virtual network with a Windows Server 2016, a Windows 7 inside it through Hyper V and a Linux distro with CLI.
I created the server, I installed the Windows 7 Hyper-V. The problem is that I have almost no network knowledge and can't seem to understand how to have internet inside the Windows 7 machine. I created a Virtual Switch that I assigned to the Win7, but in every YouTube tutorial I see people filling in some information inside the adapter settings in the Win7 machine (usually IP, gateway and DNS).

Where do I get the IP, gateway and DNS? I tried multiple combinations but nothing seems to work. I already messed up my server and had to remake it about 20 times. Please try to explain as simple as possible, as a lot of terms are pretty alien to me.
