I only use IE to do the windows update via web page occasionally when I notice the auto update is not updating.  I do not like turning things on that are not needed.  I suggest adding a bypass check box to acknowledge the SmartScreen Filter warning so that my windows live care is green again on this computer.  That way when it goes yellow again for a different reason, I will probably not ignore it.
