I would like to replicate the functionality of the Document Library "Require content approval for submitted items?" except that I want someone to have to approve only NEW items and not MODIFIED items.  It seems like I should be able to do this with a a Sharepoint workflow (assuming that I am not missing something with setting it in the Library's settings), but am not sure how I can have the document visible to only the approver until and unless it has been approved.  Any help here?

Hi Maslansk- if I understand you correctly, you can set up a Designer workflow that only runs on created items. You can also set your versioning setting so that only the creator and approver can see draft items.
