My SharePoint 2013 Site has a Issue where when I search for excel sheets and then click on the searched Excel sheet it tries to open it up in the browser but that fails to open.

From Search Results page, Search Results Preferences page we can Open in the client application which I selected for one User but I have way to many users to be making this change. Is there any way we can make this change site wide so all users that search for excel sheets it will open in application and not Browser

In the SharePoint site collection, choose the Settings icon > Site Settings.

On the Site Settings page, under Site Collection Administration, choose Site Collection Features.
