I'm fairly new to SP online, so hoping you can help me. What I'm trying to achieve is this: I need to create a register (list) of key documents which can be located in any document library in a number of site collections. The register will have its own metadata fields, but some will be common to those of the document libraries. Each new registry entry should have a link to the key document. What I would like to achieve is to bring the 'shared' metadata from the document into the register either when the document is linked or when the record/entry is saved. Is this possible? I'm pretty sure it isn't OOB, so would require some coding, jQuery perhaps. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
