Do any tools exist that convert an already existing SharePoint 2013 site into Visual Studio code? We built a SharePoint site with custom content types, managed metadata, SP workflows and all the regular lists/discussions/document libraries, etc. from the ground up via the User Interface.  As time went on, though, the requirements for the site became much more complicated so we started using Visual Studio to fulfill those requirements.  Now we are left with a hybrid site that is difficult to take through the development process because some artifacts can go through DEV-TST-STG-PRD via Visual Studio .WSP files but others need to be moved using DocAve (a choice that has already been made but which some would not be sorry to give up).  

One school of  thought is that we should create VS code for all the artifacts for everything that currently lives just in the User Interface.  Is there any way to do this besides doing an inventory and then manually creating the code for each list, document library, custom content type, etc.?  Even something that can take us part way would be better than having to manually code everything.

I can't imagine we are the first group wanting to do this so I'm hoping someone on this list can point me in the right direction.  Thanks.   Carol.
