Hi Team, I have a requirement to enable MFA in my production environment. Before implementing in production environment, i need to complete this in Free subscription and get approval to implement in production. I have installed MFA server and enabled one way authentication via Text Message. When in gave test from MFA portal, i recieved a text message with Auth code and it worked fine. But when i selected user in AD and try to enable/Enforce MFA, it is not working and am not able to enable the same.

As of September 1st 2018 Azure MFA is no longer available as a standalone service and requires an Azure AD Premium P1 or P2 license. A free license will not work for this. (See the recent article.) Please obtain a Premium license/subscription and you will be able to set this up.

You can enable MFA for your users either by clicking on Azure Active Directory > Users > Multifactor Authentication, or by going to aka.ms/mfasetup. In either case you may need to clear your browser cookies and cache to set up MFA, and you need to have a Premium license. Even prior to the September 1st change this was not available as part of a free subscription.
