We have been seeing strange backups happening every morning at 4 am from our Azure SQL Server (IaaS). Our Infrastructure engineer says he hasnt setup any SQL Server backups. But these 4 am backups are not from SQL Server scheduler or run from inside SQL Server. These are causing our scheduled backup chain to break and tlog backups taken after this point are useless.

We have Azure replication setup for this VM machine to different geological DR location as this is production server.

To backup Azure SQL Server (IaaS), you can use Azure backup for IaaS VM's.
