I am based in UK but am going to US to work for a few weeks. When logging in via Multi Factor Authentication, will my phone still receive a text? (assuming I have my phone enabled for US) I'm concerned that it won't change the country code on the number therefore I won't receive the text...

It will, as long as roaming works fine. But since some carriers might charge you for calls/SMS received abroad, you might as well just configure the Authenticator app as default method instead.
