Hello,

We have started using online SHarePoint portal. We have created simple WorkFlow for document approval.

Initialy we have created workflow directly in SharePoint and because of very poor performance we have created new one in SharePoint Designer. It is simple workflow. Only to send email to approve document when major version is created.

Performance is very slow. It took around one minute to start workflow and send message to approver.

This is not acceptable for us. We can wait a few seconds but not a minute

How many workflows in SharePoint site?

SharePoint Online uses throttling to maintain optimal performance and reliability of the SharePoint Online service. Throttling limits the number of user actions or concurrent calls (by script or code) to prevent overuse of resources. If there are a large number of requests, it would delay in execution.
