I Recently started investigating WPF as a replacement UI tech for an application. The problem I face is that ALL WPF applications I build for .NET 4 (full or client profile) take ages to start. We're talking like a minute or two, which is far too long. this occurs even in blank applications created using the New Project dialog in Visual Studio 2010.

I post this question as I have seen lots of posts about fixing the issue for x64 systems, but ours are x86 and the problem is there. So I ask does anyone know of a fix?

To mix things up I tried building for .NET 3.5 and the app starts instantly but I require .NET 4 as the previous version and many components are built in .NET 4. This is also not a cold/warm boot issue as the .NET 4 app starts slowly every time. WinForms and console apps also do not suffer.
