I am mostly familiar with front-end development with Angular.js and my only main server-side language is Java.

I would like to know what technologies I can use to connect those things together that would be relevant to what employers are looking for as skills.

Additional questions might be:
- What database should I use?
- What java-based tools should I use for communicating with both the database and the front-end code?
- What is actually involved with connecting both the frontend and backend?

What I have tried:

Googling information related to java full-stack development and I do not see a clear picture of what is the modern choice for starting a project.

Most development stacks use PHP(Like LAMP) which is not related to what I am trying to learn
