Hi,

I am planning to build a recovery VM at Azure as a recovery point for the Hyper-V on-premises infrastructure.

Once the VM in Azure is in 'Protected' state (After finishing the initial replication), I would like to replicate certain folders and files changed at on-premises VM to azure replicated VM on a certain schedule.

Basically, run replication only for certain folders and files according to a schedule and stop the replication after copying the modified files to azure vm from on-premises vm. The VM in Azure is going to be the production server in case of a failure in the on-premises site.

Is this a possible scenario under Azure Site Recovery?

Hello Manu,

Azure Site Recovery manages and orchestrates disaster recovery of on-premises machines and Azure virtual machines (VMs).

So if you want to replicate just folders, you can either use an extended DFSR to an Azure IaaS VM or then by using Azure File Sync.
