Hi

I can find posts relating to the above but where my issue differs is that it is affects all users on all libraries where the docs are stored in the db. It might have started since we last patched SharePoint 28/2/2018. It appears to relate to the SP / upload center / office mechanism. You can upload/ download files, you can open files in wordpad, office online works fine unless you click edit in word etc. ULS has no error when the files fail to open.

Has anyone seen anything like this or know how to start debugging it?

Also it is not affecting libraries that use RBS as appose to storing the doc's in the db.

This is all I can find in the event viewer.

I have also used fiddler to try to get more information and whilst Fiddler is open the files open as expected butI get the same error when Fiddler is not running. Does this indicate anything?

"Did you install multiple versions of the office on the same server? For example, you install office 2013 and office 2016 on the same server.

Did you install the office application on the SharePoint server?

If you install the office application on SharePoint server, un-install the office application on the SharePoint server. Then install the office application on another server in the same farm.

To troubleshoot the issue, check things below:

1. Clear cache files in Office 2016 Upload Center.

2. Clear cache in IE.

3. Reset IE settings. Go to IE->internet options->advanced tab->reset.

4. Re-install office application.

5.  Reboot the server."

I replyed:
"Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

We have not installed any version of office on any of the SharePoint Servers.

Do the instructions above affect remote users accessing SharePoint libraries or just local users? Is it worth me carrying out steps 2, 3 and 5?"
