I am facing some major issues with small and wide sized live tiles for WP7.8. What I've found is only the normal sized tile gets updated by background agent, the small sized one sometimes (rare) doesn't get updated and the wide one doesn't get updated at all.

Please note that I use the same code for my WP8 live tiles and they all work without similar problems. Also if I go to the app and click a button or something to call the update live tile method, all tiles are updated correctly.

So I guess this got something to do with how background agent updates them... Interestingly, if I use LaunchForTest() method to update the tiles every 30 seconds, ALL tiles are updated fine.

Please note that the background task for the app is on. There's no issues with the code that generates the tiles.

I've also found that wpcentral's app is having the same issue too. I have their app installed and I can tell from my phone that their wide tile never gets updated, if I simply resize it to normal or small, then the updated notification numbers shows up correctly.

There are quite a few users reporting the same issue, you can see them in the comments section here and here. Just search for the word 'wide'.
