I have come across an issue where user is unable to access word document from document library using classic view but can do so using modern view ( same document ). Has anyone come across this issue?

"We're sorry, we couldnt find a program to open this document" is the message.

It is a word document so should open using client word or word online but gives above error. However, works fine using modern view. Also it doesn't do for everyone.

I am unable to replicate the Error/Issue faced by you.

But just make sure you have following settings applied in document library.

列表->设置->进阶设定

List -> Settings -> Advance Settings
