BSOD error for about a week now when I try to back up the days work on our DVD/CD drive. This started after I installed a WEBCAM for SKype which was not "digitally signed". I disabled the driver and camera but still I would get this error? The only time I get this error is when I put a disk in the DVD/CD drive for back up. I can put in any other type of disk in the drive, i.e. audio, DVD or video.
Yet when I go to back up the days work the PC cuts off and the BSOD comes on. I also noticed that I lost my "DLA " and "Format" options on the CD drive. I've tried stopping the Indexing service and even went into the registry and took out the low and high filters of the CD drive - which someone suggested. I then re-installed the software and got the options back and thought all was well but as soon as I put the back-up disk in "poof" it cut off and the BSOD came up again!
I also re-booted in 'safe mode' and l'ast configuration that worked'. I've run "FixBOOT", "FixMBR" and "CHKDSK" from Windows Recovery - still no progress. I tried a "Restore" but only a blank page would come up so I eventually did a "Repair Installation" from the WinXP Operating disk. I also used CC Cleaner for the registry. Of course "Restore" now works but it only goes back a day. For now I am using a USB flash drive for daily back up (which actually works better) but I sure would like to find the solution for this "BAD_POOL_HEADER stop 0x00000019, 0x00000020, 0xE115E500, 0xE115E5F8, 0x0C1F0201" BSOD. I've exhausted myself "Googling" this specific problem. How can I back up from the CD drive w/o it cutting off and getting the dreaded BSOD? Has anyone else dealt with this problem? Thanks.
