I have a file on our company's SharePoint server, which I want to keep there so I can use the workflow features -- when the file is updated, we need to have someone approve the updates and the SharePoint workflow is an excellent tool for doing that and keeping track of the revisions. However, the file needs to primarily be kept on a network drive in our office for various reasons (the way macros are written into it, etc.). I thought that there would be some way to setup the "Sync to SharePoint Workspace" feature to make this work, but please correct me if I'm wrong or you have a much better idea.

Here is the problem though: Our computers have both OneDrive 2013 and SharePoint 2010 installed. When I click "Sync to SharePoint Workspace" in the "Connect & Export" section of the Sharepoint Library Tools (in the SharePoint site accessible from a browser), OneDrive for Business takes over, attempts to open, and throws the error "Sorry, we can't sync this library because it's stored on a SharePoint 2010 server." Something tells me that I should be able to make this work since I have SharePoint 2010 installed, but I don't know how to get past the OneDrive application trying to take over the sync -- I know that OneDrive for business is not compatible with SharePoint 2010.

Yes, OneDrive for Business 2013 is intended for use with SharePoint 2013. The original release of OneDrive for Business sometimes synced to SharePoint 2010, but the sync was unreliable and was never supported.
So I suggest you uninstalling OneDrive for Business 2013 in SharePoint Server 2010 environment though Control Panel->Programs and Features->Microsoft OneDrive for Business 2013->Uninstall.
