Found a solution. To resolve such problems with Visual Studio or Blend, simply delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\{version}\ComponentModelCache or %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Blend\{version}\ComponentModelCache (respectively), then restart your Visual Studio or Blend.
