Years ago I purchased an application, it has both an .mde and an .mdb file. I know that the code is in the .mde file and I don''t care about it, but I need to extract the database tables from the .mdb file.

I''ve tried opening it and it says "That the user does not have permission to convert or enable this database".

I have tried linking to the tables and same issue.

Again I don''t want anything to do with the code, but I do want all of my data that I have entered.

It may be workgroup security, not sure.

I can post the file if necessary. Any help would be appreciated as right now there are about 7 tables, and it would save me a ton of effort if the raw data could be extracted.

PS. I should also say that I purchased a password recovery program, but it said that the .mdb file was not password protected.

PPS. I should also mention that the shortcut for the link to the .mdb file had something like this as a target:

"C:/.../Msaccess.exe" /runtime /profile "xxxxx" "C:/Program Files/SomeFile.mde"

You have the MDE & MDB back to front. Both files have the same tables in them. Only the MDB has the code. The MDE is more likely to be unprotected so is the easier one to look into for data.

It''s possible the data is stored in a linked BE of course, in which case you need to determine the BE from the tables in the FE.
