I tried posting this but got an error the first time.

I have set up SQL server on an XP Pro laptop and transferred 2 databases from another laptop which was sucessfull. I also transferred an access database on this laptop which was successful. Now I need to set up the linked tables in the access database but when I try to link the tables and choose ODBC databases as the source the "Select Data Source" screen will not appear. I have set up my ODBC connections to the SQL databases and they test successfully. I have turned off the Personal Wirewall on my laptop. I have looked at my security settings and I can not see the problem. It all works fine on my old laptop running on WN2000 Pro. I tried to relink through the link table manager and changed the server name to the new laptop name but I cannot link. It must be something with XP but I don''t know what. I need to finish a class project this week.

Although you see this in Access, I wouldn''t think that it''s an Access problem as such.
