Com''on Microsoft!

Alex。

Com''on微软!

VB.Net

Take a look at whidbey. So far (unless something is being hidden from us
at this point) whidbey is all about C#. Just another reminder from MS that
VB is dead. VB is not on their radar. It''s all about C#.

MS has effectively ignored the VB programmers during VB.Net''s development
and now during it''s extention.

The only real problem I have with it is that MS should have the balls to
tell VB programmers to learn C# or go to hell.

I know a lot of programmers (VB) that would appreciate the honesty and
would appreciate saving money on their Fred.Net books and studying and
certification tests if MS would only be honest with them.

Com''on Microsoft! Grab yourself by the balls and tell ''em already!

And that''s how I see it....

Put down the crack pipe Joe... VB.NET is a umongous improvement over VB6
even though for some change is hard to take (you have to unlearn alot of bad
things to move from VB6 to any other major language). As a profesionnal
programmer which loves VB as much as he likes C, VB.NET is a more complete
and profesionnal tool than VB6 ever was.

They fixed most of the bad things and incorporated alot of excellent new
stuff. Puting down the work that has been done shows alot of ignorance or
bad intention...

As for C# stealing the spotlight it''s no surprise... It''s the new baby...
Everytime a major new language shows up the same thing happens and after 4-5
years it takes it''s real place. Look at Java.... If things were like they
were supposed to be we''d all be running Java OS over a linux kernel... Since
then it took it''s place which is MUCH smaller than some anticipated. It
didn''t eclipse ANY of the major languages.

Take it cool... VB has a long life ahead... C/C++ too... And I''m betting C#
too and that''s just great. Besides if you know .NET a bit you know languages
are just syntax now :P We''ll all programming CLR wheter we want it or not :)

As long as the curly brackets on the German keyboard can only be accessed
via the Alt Gr key, VB isn''t dead!
Think about that...

Relax people. It was just a little joke. A poke at some of my VB.Net
friends.

In reality, if Whidbey shows us anything it is that MS has seen that C# is
lacking in ease-of-use and they are taking steps to rectify it.

Now we return you to your regularly scheduled life.
