JeffYa, i do have a ethereal, but i need to implement it using sockets.. actually we r implementing SIP so, initially we need to check if the two end points r connected, so i have to write a code..

You have to provide as much information as you possibly can about your issue or you will get suggestions like mine that could not take other facts that only you know into account.
Since you have to write code for this, you will need to specify what language that you want to do this in. That way, I can move this thread over to the forum for that language.
