Here''s a conundrum that I hope someone out there can help me solve.
I''ve created a page to XHTML 1.0 Transitional / CSS standards using
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 (and validated both with no problems).
Whilst creating the page I''ve previewed it in IE 6, FireFox 0.8 and Opera
7.21 on my PC and the page displays perfectly (well, as perfectly as IE''s
implementation of CSS will allow!)
Now when I upload the page together with its stylesheet etc. to the server
and try to view the page over the WWW, both IE 6 and Opera view it with no
problems but FireFox only displays the unstyled page. The usual sunglasses
icon appears in the bottom bar indicating that a stylesheet is attached to
the page, but for some reason that I fail to understand that stylesheet
information isn''t being displayed.
I''ve tried it on a friends Mac and the same happens in his FireFox and also
Camino, which implies this is an issue with only Mozilla browsers.

I suspect it because your server is serving the CSS with Content Type
"application/x-pointplus" instead of "text/css". Mozilla is actually doing the
right thing, although it can be disconcerting the first time you hit it.
(Although normally the mistake is "text/html" instead!) I asked my hosting
service to change when I had a similar problem.

Configure the server to send CSS files with mime-type "text/css".
