I have seven computers. I have several web pages for the classes I
teach at the local Community college. Some of my student complain to
me that the counter on my web page is always at zero.
On 4 of my computer, this is true, but the other three show the AKA

several of my students computers that they all read zero. I have
cleaned out my history, deleted cookies, and so on.
The computers at school show the number fine. I am going nuts.

My own hit counter uses a UNIX script as a server-side include
(SSI). The script has to be located on the Web server locally to
my Web directory. That is, my Web pages are in /public_html/
within my account directory while my script is in
/public_html/cgi-bin/. Further, the HTML file that uses the script
must have execute permission set for all users.
Thus, you should verify that your counter scripts are all properly
installed and that their use is appropriately enabled. This is
necessary not only for SSI counters but also for CGI counters.
