While single OS may be a con, keep in mind that you can do a lot with SQL
Server also.
But there''s a wide range of SQL Server versions that can run across all MS
OS''s.

SQL Server.

In my experience, stability and security depends on the quality of the
sysadmins, DBAs and application developers. You are at the mercy of other
hosted applications in any shared environment regardless of platform.
