Hi,

Am trying to build a database for non-profit organisation, its a volunteer job and nobody around to guide me. From my learning I could able to build few reports and forms but am feeling stuck at one point.

I have two tables tblWorkers and tblLocations (locations & volunteer positions & start and end time using lookup wiz.) and made relationship using tblJunction.

I need to build a form which shows volunteers details and a sub-form to directly fill the volunteers schedule (location, date and time) as soon as I get confirmation from any of them. I tried building one but its not working.

Could somebody guide me what query should I run which link both tables and show me only those volunteers who may shown willingness for this event.

I really dont want to disappoint these people any sort of guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance......

If you can post the MetaData for your three tables in this format :

Well in Access you want your form to have its data source as the query. I would not recommend creating a query to do this. If you have what is called a noramlized data base you should be able to link the data realtionally with out creating queries. In some cases queries will not allow you enter new data. if you want to email me the file at jpgomez80 at gmail dot com, I will do my best to assist you. Please make sure when you zip it that you rename the .zip extension to .doc as gmail does not accept zip file any longer. Or I would recommend you go to this link first Learn Access. Please don''t take this a shrewed method, but it is important you understand the fundamentals before you procceed in asking questions. This site will assist any novice user in creating a basic database.

I would start with building a volunteers form and add a new combobox with the unique volunteerID and name. The wizard will give three options and when you se the lookup option (# 3), then that can be used to select a volunteer easily.
Next add a subform for the tblJoin and accept the proposed link.
This will synchronize the subform to show just the rows for the active volunteer and adding new rows will automatically fill the volunteerID.
