Stay far far away from Norton software. Period. They suffer from major bloat in everyting they do. (Just my opinion)
Free AV anything is good.
I actually pay for AV from ComputerAssociates becuase I get email anti spam and search indexing and some other benefits.

so,how to update free AVG?actually i use norton before this and i will download virus definition every week to make norton status is active.it is because i should not online to make live update.

I would hope that AVG updates like everybody else, but I haven''t tried it.
