David。

Rick,

David

请参阅 http:// members.rogers.com/douglas.j....LessLinks.html 单向

中的内容 http:// www .mvps.org / access / tables / tbl0010.htm at 访问网络

Hi,

I have an MS Access app which is split Front / Back.
The Back End resides on our server. A seperate copy of the front end
also resides on the server, one copy in each of our network users
folders. On their Local machine they have a shortcut to their copy of
the Front End.

When I update my Master Front End, obviously I want to update their
copy and would prefer to have it done automatically, but instead I do
the following:

1/ Copy my master front end
2/ Delete their current front end from their folder
3/ Paste my master into their folder & rename
4/ Open their updated front end
5/ Delete all the table links
6/ Go to each machine and manually FILE > GET EXTERNAL DATA > LINK
TABLES
7/ Reset their Start up permissions.

This is such a permormance.

Is their a way that I could create a facility on my master FRONT END so
that they or I could hit a button and have everything updated
automatically ?

Appreciate your help on this matter
David.

Why on earth are you deleting and recreating the links? If they are correct
in your master just replace their file and your done.

Rick,

This does not work.
The master front end I use on my Local machine has the tables import
linked through an ODBC connection on my local machine.

If I just copy my front end over one of my colleagues, they just get an
ODBC error. For them to use the front end, they need to have the tables
import linked via their own local ODBC connection.

If you have a better way, great, please tell me about it.

Thank
David

Either create DSNs with the same name on all machines, or else go DSN-less.

See http://members.rogers.com/douglas.j....LessLinks.html for one way
to do the latter.

Another option might be what''s in
http://www.mvps.org/access/tables/tbl0010.htm at "The Access Web"
