I have heard rumors that Lotus notes would be moving to db2 as the
datastore..would that mean db2 for windows and Linux have a shot in

I don''t know where you get your information, but DB2 is quite pervasive on
Windows and Linux. If you would like to try DB2 for Windows, you can
download the 90 day evaluation copy and install it. Works great, just like
on Unix and Linux platforms, although the hardware for a Windows server is
typically somewhat less robust than the others. You can also download the
Linux version.

BTW, MS-SQL Server only runs on Windows, not Linux or any other OS.

i just read a amarket survey..which said Db2 has 33% amrket shared
followed closely by oracle and then by sql server and sybase..Now what
made me curious was that db2 share might include mainframes and
informix takeover and the number might be screwed..and in order to
offset that IBM might announce that Lotus notes move its store to Db2
making significant consolidations into the the Unix and windoze
market..:-)..Not that IBM strategist might not have thought about
it..but still :-)
