Why keep session alive! Session uses computer resources on the server, and if you keep sessions alive you may got into serious troubles of performance or even crash.
I should advise you to think about your design of when and why keep a session alive, and for sure not to do it for all your web site...
(As a basic design of any web site I should say no session use at all, so when you brake this rule you do it only with a very good reason...)
