So I'm not a techie, so I may not understand some terms you use, but here's the deal-
I have a flashdrive with decent space and I'm trying to download a game called Wakfu on it. It is an online game that I wish to play but am unable to properly install it on my computer because I do not have proper admin access. I am wondering if it is at all possible to both install the game and run it from the flashdrive itself, rather than it installing on the computer itself. Is this possible and how do I do it?

What I have tried:

Downloading the file that is needed to download the full game, but I get an error-

"Unable to install 'Visual Studio Redistributable 20088 SP1 - ATL". Please consult the FAQ at http://wakfu.com for a solution to this issue."

The reason I have not gone to the link above is because I highly suspect no one has attempted to run this particular game from a flashdrive before.

The problem is almost certainly that your lack of access is deliberate, and will not allow you to install what are effectively system components like the redistributable which has to be installed in the right place in order to work.

You have three options.
1) Go to whoever does have admin access on your machine and explain why you need to install a game.
2) Talk to Wakfu via the link and explain where you got the app from, and what the problem is.
3) This is just a guess, but ... stop trying to play games on kit that you aren't supposed to. If it's a work machine, then you could easily be fired if you are caught. If it's a college machine, you could be suspended. And if by any chance the game is not a legitimate copy (and given it's up on Steam that seems likely) then potentially you could face legal involvement. And that's ignoring the number of "cracked" games which carry virus and / or ransomware payloads ... I'd get on with what you are supposed to be doing instead, myself.
