Card readers provide a identification of teh card, not an amount in any way - the amount comes from the main software at the server side when it communicated with the transaction service company the store is using to validate accounts and transfer moneys.

I would suggest that the best thing to do would be to contact the manufacturers and ask their tech support: Castle Technology/[^] - but I've not heard of a browser based card processing system and would have thought it unlikely.
