I am trying to zip files in ftp directory before downloading the files.
Is there ways to zip the files in ftp and download it after zipping from client side.

No. The operation would have to be done entirely on the server.

ZIP'ing the files up from the client side would require you to download the files just to read the data in them so you can add them to the .ZIP ON THE CLIENT SIDE. Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
