from RC when attempting to open the resource editor?

If I take the "command line" displayed in the Project Properties on the
Resources / Command Line page and use it as the options to rc.exe, the .rc
file compiles without error.

I see several web posts about problems with extra " or \ at the end of some
options, but as displayed in the Project Properties, things look OK. Is
there a way to see what is really being passed to the Resource Compiler?

What I have tried:

I tried to open the Properties->Resouce and verified whether there is any new / introduced. But everything looks ok.
