How would you go about to read data from excel file in Linux? Is there a C++ library I can use? I guess if the file is OOXML, I could treat it as such and use XPath on it??

Well, after some research - the excel file is in OOXML format. It's basically a zip file (that's right!) that contains a bunch of xml files, so I'll just unzip it and manipulate the xml files.
