I have checked the permissions they are fine of file and folder. I have even copy file to a folder that I already have permission and it still would not attach. Can anyone help with a solution? I know it is a permission problem. I have even changed the permissions to everyone having access and it did not work. I am logged in the admin group and even running SSMS in admin role and still did not able to attach file. I am the only one using this machine, so can anyone give me solution. I am using ms sql express 2012.

Based on the error message posted in the comments, you are trying to attach a database file created in SQL Server 2014 to a SQL Server 2012 instance.

You cannot do that. The database you attach or restore must be created in the same version of SQL, or an earlier version.

Either re-create your database in SQL 2012, or upgrade the destination server to SQL 2014.
