It has nothing to do with Java. This is a pure client-side behavior implemented with HTML+CSS+JavaScript.
If this lightbox does not work for you, I can suggest tons of different ones. I can even explain how to create your own one; it is the same technique as with so called modal popup. I explain how to do it from scratch but also review existing alternatives: Modal Popup From Scratch[^].
For tons of existing alternatives, you can do a quite Web search.
But I'm afraid your problem is different. Please see my comment to the question. I did not look into the library you tried to use, but my consideration suggest that even with your library the solution is quite apparent. Perhaps you should stop perceiving software development as "trying". You need to grasp the idea itself and proceed in a logical way.
