解决方案

自使用实体框架以来作为大多数MVC应用程序的默认ORM，所以如果你经历一次（特别是Code First模型）会很棒。但你可以使用ADO.NET或任何其他ORM，如hibernate和MVC应用程序，所以这不是强制要求在MVC之前学习EF。

解决方案

Since Entity Framework used as default ORM with most of the MVC applications, so it would be great if you go through once (specially Code First model). But you can use ADO.NET or any other ORM like hibernate with MVC application also, so but this is not mandatory to learn EF before MVC.

The answer is: Yes, you do, because every new skill moves your references (skills) on higher level.
